Steel Buildings for Bharatpur and Chitwan
Mahawar Prefab Solutions is a steel fabricator in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. We draw the building, make it in our own shop, and roll the colour-coated sheet that clads it. Nothing important is subcontracted, which is why we can answer questions about our own steel without going back to someone else first.
The buildings we make are pre-engineered: columns and rafters built up from plate and shaped to the loads each carries, C and Z purlins spanning between frames, and every member drilled and numbered in the factory so nothing is cut or welded on site.
What that means in practice is an erection sequence. A crane lifts the first frame, it is bolted to the foundation bolts, and it is held by temporary guys until a second frame goes up and the two are tied together with purlins and bracing. Only then is it stable enough to release. So the crew needs room for a crane to stand and swing, somewhere to lay members out in the order they will be lifted, and a way to get a long rafter from the road to the slab. On a tight urban plot those are real questions, and they are easier to answer while the building is still a drawing.

What a Bharatpur Site Has to Handle
Bharatpur has grown faster than almost anywhere else in Nepal, and it has grown in several directions at once — farming and food around it, a major road junction running through it, and a city centre that keeps thickening. Buildings here get asked to do quite different jobs.

Storage for a Farming District
Chitwan produces a great deal of grain, vegetables, poultry and dairy, and most of it needs holding somewhere before it moves. Steel frames suit that well: wide clear spans for bulk storage, and a structure that takes insulated panels cleanly if the building is going to be a cold store.

A Junction on the Highway
The East–West Highway passes through here and the road north to Kathmandu leaves from Narayanghat. Freight stops, changes hands and carries on. Distribution sheds along those roads need depth for vehicles, canopies over loading points and a layout built around how trucks actually enter and leave.

City plots are tighter than they were, with neighbours close and access roads narrow. That affects how a building can be erected — where a crane can stand, how a long member reaches the slab. It is worth telling us about the access early, because the frame can be split and sequenced to suit it.

Questions People Ask
The things worth settling before you commit to a steel building.
What is a pre-engineered steel building?
A building whose steel frame is designed for that one project and made in a factory. Columns and rafters are welded up from plate, deeper where the loads are higher, and purlins span between the frames to carry the sheeting. Every piece is drilled and numbered in the shop, so on site it is bolted together rather than cut and welded.
Are you a Nepali manufacturer?
No. We are an Indian company with a single plant in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. Design and fabrication both happen there, and we supply the finished structure into Nepal. We have no workshop or office inside Nepal.
Do you supply buildings to Bharatpur and Chitwan?
Yes. Consignments cross the border by road and reach Chitwan along the East–West Highway. We supply warehouses, storage buildings, workshops, cold store shells and commercial structures for sites in Bharatpur, Narayanghat and the surrounding district.
Can you supply the structure for a cold storage building?
Yes. We design and supply the steel shell — the frame, purlins and external sheeting — with the geometry and fixing arrangement suited to insulated panels. The insulated panels themselves, the refrigeration plant and the internal fit-out are supplied and installed by your cold-chain contractor. Tell us the panel type at design stage so the framing suits it.
My plot has narrow access. Is that a problem?
Not if we know early. Erection needs a crane standing somewhere with room to swing, and space to lay members out in lifting order. Where access is tight, rafters can be split at designed splice points into lengths a smaller vehicle can bring in. Send photographs of the approach road and the plot with your enquiry.
Do you make agricultural and poultry buildings?
Yes. Grain stores, produce sheds, poultry houses and farm workshops are all straightforward steel buildings. What changes is the detail — ventilation openings, eave height, sheet specification and how easily the inside can be washed down. Tell us what will be kept inside and we will detail accordingly.
How do you stop condensation dripping off the roof?
Condensation forms when warm moist air inside meets a cold sheet. It is normally managed with an anti-condensation backing or insulation under the sheet, together with ridge and eave ventilation so damp air can escape. For stored grain, produce or packaged goods this is worth specifying properly rather than discovering in the first cold month.
What do you need to quote?
Building length, width and inside height, what it is for, the plot location and size, and anything heavy the frame must carry. Photographs of the site access help. If you have not fixed the size, send the plot dimensions and we will suggest what fits.
Who does the foundations and the erection?
Foundations are designed by your civil engineer and built by your contractor, using the anchor bolt layout and base reactions we send. Erection is normally by your own crew with a hired crane, following our erection drawings and lifting sequence. Clearance into Nepal goes through your clearing agent. If you want erection in our scope, raise it at quotation stage.
