Steel Buildings for Hetauda and Makwanpur
Mahawar Prefab Solutions runs a steel fabrication plant in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. We design pre-engineered buildings, fabricate them in our own shop, and roll the colour-coated sheet that covers them — so the frame and the envelope come from the same place and the same drawings.
A pre-engineered building is a frame made to order. Columns and rafters are welded up from plate to the depth each part of the frame needs; C and Z purlins run between frames to carry the sheets; every member is drilled and numbered in the shop so it bolts into place on site. Nothing is cut or welded once it arrives.
The part people underestimate is where our steel meets your concrete. Every column stands on anchor bolts cast into a foundation that your civil contractor builds before the steel arrives. If those bolts are a few millimetres out, the base plate will not sit and the erection crew stops. So we issue an anchor bolt layout and the column base reactions early — before fabrication finishes — so the foundations can be designed, cast and cured while the steel is still in our shop, and the two meet cleanly on the day.

What Hetauda Sites Ask of a Building
Hetauda is the provincial capital of Bagmati, one of Nepal's longest-standing industrial towns, and a stop on the main road between the Birgunj border and the hill country. It also sits in an inner-Terai valley where the monsoon arrives hard. All of that shapes what a building here has to do.

Between the Border and the Hills
Goods coming up from Birgunj pass through on their way further north and west, which makes Hetauda a natural place to hold stock, break loads and redistribute. That work needs covered floor area with room for trucks to pull in and turn — something a column-free steel shed provides without much fuss.

In an industrial estate that has been running for decades, many buildings are due for replacement, and the plot boundary is fixed. A steel frame can be designed to the exact footprint of the old building — or a better use of the same plot — with the new structure sized to the boundaries and access you already have.

Heavy rain finds every weakness in a roof. Slope, sheet laps, flashings, gutter size and downpipe spacing all decide whether a building stays dry through July. These are settled on the drawing, sized for the catchment of the roof, rather than improved after the first leak.

Sheeting and Secondary Steel
In a valley that takes a heavy monsoon, the roof is the part that gets tested every year. Sheet profile, laps, fixings and gutters are detailed together with the frame, and because we roll the sheet ourselves the whole envelope is specified as one. We also supply sheeting and purlins on their own for re-roofing existing buildings.

The practical questions Hetauda clients raise before they commit.
How is a pre-engineered building different from a conventional shed?
A conventional shed is usually built from standard rolled sections cut and welded on site. A pre-engineered building is designed for one project, with columns and rafters welded up from plate to the depth each part needs, and every member made, drilled and numbered in a factory. On site it is bolted together, which is quicker, cleaner and more predictable.
Where is your factory?
Our plant is in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, India. All design and fabrication happens there. We supply finished structures to projects in Nepal but have no factory, yard or office inside Nepal.
Do you supply buildings to Hetauda and the rest of Makwanpur?
Yes. Consignments cross at Raxaul–Birgunj and travel north on the highway to Hetauda. We supply factory buildings, warehouses, workshops, highway-side sheds and custom structures for sites in the town, the industrial estate and the surrounding district.
Can you replace an old building on the same footprint?
Yes. Send us the dimensions of the existing building and the plot boundaries, and we will design a new frame to suit — the same footprint, or a better layout within the same plot. Demolition and removal of the old structure is arranged separately by the owner.
Who designs and builds the foundations?
Foundations are designed by your civil engineer and built by your contractor. We supply the anchor bolt layout and the column base reactions — the loads each column puts into the ground — so they can be designed correctly and cast before the steel arrives. Accurate bolt positions are what make erection go smoothly.
How is the roof designed to cope with heavy monsoon rain?
By settling the details on the drawing: a roof slope that sheds water quickly, correct sheet end and side laps, flashings at ridges and edges, and gutters and downpipes sized for the area of roof draining into them. Most roof leaks come from details left to site improvisation, not from the sheet itself.
Can you supply only roofing sheets and purlins for an existing building?
Yes. We roll colour-coated PPGI and PPGL sheet under our Datashyne brand and form C and Z purlins in our own shop, so we can supply them on their own for re-roofing or re-cladding. Send the roof dimensions and the frame spacing, and we will work out quantities and lengths.
What do you need from me to prepare a quotation?
Building length, width and inside height, the use, the site location and plot boundaries, and any cranes or heavy equipment. If you are replacing a building, its dimensions and a few photographs help. A hand sketch is enough to start.
What is our responsibility and what is yours?
We handle design, drawings, fabrication, export paperwork from India and dispatch. You handle foundations, clearance into Nepal through your clearing agent, and erection through your own contractor, using the drawings, numbered members and bill of materials we provide. If you want erection in our scope, raise it at quotation stage.
